While that’s completely fine to do on a personal blog, it’s not necessary for a blog business that you intend to earn an income from.
Why? Because an introduction post probably isn’t going to grab people’s attention (unless you’re a celebrity of some sort!).

I know it can be intimidating to start blogging as a beginner, so I’ve thought of a few different types of blog posts that aren’t too difficult to write.

1. Share your top beginner tips
Write a blog post sharing some of your top beginner tips to help people out and make their lives easier!
Beginners in all different niches are often searching for all of the information they can get, so this is a great blog post idea to get their attention.
Whether you have a camping blog, a craft blog, a food blog or just about any other type of blog, there are going to be readers who need simple, beginner-friendly tips.
If you’re struggling to come up with ideas, try writing out a few answers to these questions: What do you wish you would have known when you were first starting out in your niche? What do you wish people would have told you? What are the top mistakes beginners make?
Not only will a blog post like this help people out and attract new readers, but it’ll be easy for you to write since it’ll be made up of straight forward, simple information.
2. List your top essentials in your niche
What could you not live without regarding your niche? What products do you think people in your niche would benefit from the most?
Think of a topic within your niche where people could use a cheat guide on the top things they should own. Here are a few examples:
If you have a blog about sewing, you could write about the top essentials for a sewing/craft room, essentials for sewing clothes, essentials for beginner sewers, etc.
This is a very helpful type of blog post that people are sure to appreciate. Plus, you could easily monetize a blog post like this by adding in affiliate links!
3. Review a product in your niche
Research shows that about 89% of consumers go online to search for more information about a product before making a purchase, so it’s no surprise that a product review would be a great first blog post!

How-to posts are a great way to gain the trust of new readers because they show how trustworthy and helpful you are!

There’s no need to overthink your first blog post, and you don’t have to write a post introducing yourself (you can save that information your your about page if you want).
That being said, you are free to do as you wish! If you want your first post to be about who you are and what to expect from your blog, then go for it. If you want to start positing blog posts like you’ve had your blog forever, then that’s great too. Just keep in mind that the latter is more likely to get new readers interested.
